This is the part where I tell you where Homespun Reality came from, why this site was designed and what Homespun Reality is. Homespun Reality is the creative pseudonym of me, Bret Juliano. Homespun Reality was first conceived when I began to write poetry about 5 years ago, during a time in my life where  I was struggling emotionally, spiritually and mentally on a day to day basis. Poetry brought me a creative outlet where I could effectively express my thoughts and feelings without any repercussions, good or bad.

This site was designed as another element of the Homespun Reality creative outlet so that I may get my poetry out to the world, plain and simple.

Homespun Reality is the official name that I have chosen to use because I feel it encompasses the entire spectrum that I seek to reach with my poetry. Homespun is defined as something plain, unpolished, unsophisticated, simple and/or rustic. Poetry does not have to be something extravagant, amazingly detailed and flawlessly aligned in both rhyme and meter. Likewise, I believe that life is about being more than a great facade in which everything is polished up, sophisticated, complex and if not deemed worthy, then it doesn’t eed to be heard, seen or talked about. Reality is defined as something that exists independently of ideas concerning it. Reality cannot be altered or changed because someone doesn't like it the way that it currently is; it is free standing and independent.

Homespun Reality is the plain and honest poetical musings of Bret Juliano that exist independently of the ideas concerning it.
